Mission Statement: Southern Business School provides higher education in a framework where quality, recognition, affordability and customer service play a central role.
Since our inception in 1996 we have committed ourselves to providing recognised South African qualifications to contribute to the body of managerial talent. We see this as our point of departure whenever a qualification is introduced. All our qualifications, training courses, and consultationin the private as well as public sectors focus on management and its various specialist streams, which enables us to focus all our resources on what we do best — helping to develop successful leaders and managers. There is for us no better reward than a learner excelling in his or her career. The four principles of quality, affordability, customer service, and recognition form the cornerstones on which Southern Business School has been built and these principles inform all our actions and decisions.

  • The quality of our programmes and learner services is the end result of various internal quality assurance processes that are continuously monitored. Externally we ensure quality through regular peer reviews, by adhering to the requirements of professional bodies, and by always aiming to exceed the expectations of industry. Quality is also strictly regulated in the legal framework of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET], Council on Higher Education (CHE), and the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
  • Affordability is paramount in developing a country such as ours and we are proud that we are continuously able to meet the demand for quality education at a reasonable price.
  • Recognition is reflected in Southern Business School’s registration with the DHET as a private higher education institution and in our agreements with several public, private and international institutions of higher learning. It also reflects the fact that we recognise our learners as the focus of all our actions. We recognise previous learning experiences and endeavour to open up access to higher education for as many people as possible.
  • Customer Service: We strive to serve students to the best of our ability and to create a learning experience second to none.
